It has been so hot and dry up until yesterday, finally rained. It will be interesting to see in the next week or so how the rains affect herping. Most of our herping time has been night road cruising from 6:00 P.M- Midnight Temps range between 85-60 depending on time of night. Rattlesnakes and Bullsnakes have been plentiful. Toads are finally showing up, I think this will get other herps out on the move.

Something is in the air here in Colorado. Hognose snakes are out and about. Last year we found 3 total this year we have already found 10 and 7 of those in a 3 day period. Very odd considering it has been 105 degrees during the day and no rain. This report consists of a little road cruising and a little walking around.
